Sky Arts are to broadcast a 2 Tone Double Bill on Wednesday 16th April
First up at 9pm will be the television premier of the excellent 'Pauline Black: A 2 Tone Story' documentary which tells the life story of the legendary lead vocalist of The Selecter.
This will be followed at 10.50pm by a repeat broadcast of the 'The Specials - A Message To You', a profile that traces the story of the iconic 2 Tone band.
Scarlett Fever release new single, 'Many Faces' & 'It's Not Enough'.
Scarlett Fever are a Crewe based Mod band. The line-up is Tom Scarlett (frontman), Harry Edwards (guitar) and Callum Bell (drums) with a revolving door of bassists over the years.
Tom says, "We’re heavily influenced by the Mod Revival scene of the late 70s/early 80s - bands such as The Killermeters, The Jam, Secret Affair and The Lambrettas are our biggest inspiration. We're also massive fans of bands such as Pulp, The Libertines and The Courteeners.
Our single came out on 28th March - the A-side is ‘Many Faces’, which is a homage to power pop and the early revival scene, whilst the B-side is called ‘It’s Not Enough’ and has a driving sound with its SX-225 inspired riff.
We play March of the Mods Redcar yearly now (if Mods want a definitive place to see us regularly every year).
Alan May from The Glory Boy Mod Radio Show has been very supportive, and we're currently looking for gigs all over the country.
Frontman Tom has been described as everything from Morrissey, to Ian Curtis to Jarvis Cocker (depending on if he’s managed to keep his shirt on).
