Stone Foundation announce brand new album "Is Love Enough?"

The album consists of 17 brand new Stone Foundation tracks.
As ever the band maintain their collaborative approach
with a roster of exciting artists new and old.

Regular collaborator Paul Weller joins the band for 5 of the tracks
(including a lead vocal on new single Deeper Love).

Other guest lead vocalists are Durand Jones and Laville.

Legendary actor Peter Capaldi closes the album with a
spoken word meditation written by Vincent van Gogh on the subject of love.

Elsewhere there are contributions from both
Steve White and Mick Talbot (formerly of the Style Council)
who play on multiple tracks.

The album will be released on 11th September 2020 via
100% Records on the following formats:

CD / 2CD / 2LP / 2LP (Turquoise Vinyl) / Cassette / Digital.

Subculture change name to Sharp Class ahead of new single release on Heavy Soul! Records

Band Statement: -

"For everyone that wasn’t able to catch the announcements livestream last night, let us fill you in with the details. We are changing the band name from SubCulture to Sharp Class. One of the main reasons for this is that there are multiple bands of that have the name SubCulture which causes problems when releasing music. We want to take this band seriously and the only way for us to continue is to change our name. We’re sure there are plenty of questions so we’re holding a live Q&A on Friday 24th July so if you have any burning questions about Sharp Class or anything else then hold onto them and ask them during our livestream OR put them in the comments of this post. If you want to know all the details about the name change sooner, we have done an interview in the 50th edition of the Heavy Soul fanzine, available from heavysoul45s.co.uk. This is a big thing so we want to run through some points about Sharp Class.⁣

SubCultures music is not going anywhere. Music that is released from now on will be under the name “Sharp Class”. All the streaming sites will have new “Sharp Class” profiles.⁣

We are changing the names of our existing SubCulture social media but creating a new YouTube channel, keeping the SubCulture channel up.⁣

There will be a new website for Sharp Class and the shop is being stocked with new merch.⁣

More news is coming this Friday about Sharp Class. Keep your ears to the ground. Let’s just say that the ball is now rolling.⁣

One last thing is that we recently had the great pleasure to do an interview for GHQ which is one of the many interesting developments we’ve been busy with whilst not gigging. This book is a history of the Mod movement in Britain (with some references to the rest of the World) from the 1950s to the present day.

It tells the history of Mod from its roots in the Jazz and Blues clubs of Soho through to the present day. It covers all the major bands, the fashions, record labels and the scooters as well as the clubs, the fights on the beaches and the boutiques. It lovingly explores the origins of all the major musical genres associated with the Mods, from Jazz, Blues, Soul, Northern Soul, Freakbeat, Mod Revival, Britpop and beyond. Written with humour and a deep love for the subject matter, it is comprehensive whilst being easy going.

Written by Dr Erik Grigg, who is a historian and sometime Mod record shop owner. The author wrote a short booklet on the history of the Mod movement nearly two decades ago and this book is partly based on that research, but has been revised, expanded, revisited and brought bang up to date. It contains the most comprehensive history of the Mod movement from the first time Jazz and Blues music was heard in Britain, through the Swinging 60s and the Mod Revival of the Jam era via Britpop and Scooter Boys to the Twenty-First Century.
