interviews with Ray Davies and his fractious band-mates. Reprinted in full in
this Ultimate Music Guide, most of them have been lost for decades. Uncut's
current writers, meanwhile, have produced new reviews of every single album in
the Kinks' catalogue, uncovering a few long-neglected gems in the process. To
finish things off, none other than Ray Davies has contributed a brand new
introduction to the mag. "I think it's time to reappraise," he says.
"It's great to have 'Sunny Afternoon' and 'You Really Got Me', but the
value of the unheard work is still to be discovered. I'm educating myself on it
