Julien Temple to direct daughter in The Kinks biopic

Music filmmaker JULIEN TEMPLE is set to direct his daughter Juno in his upcoming THE KINKS biopic.

The director's You Really Got Me movie will feature the 25 year old as The Kinks frontman Ray Davies' ex-wife Rasa, opposite singer/actor Johnny Flynn as Davies. Pride star George MacKay will portray Ray's bandmate brother Dave.

Julien Temple, who has directed a number of The Kinks music videos, previously directed Juno in his 2000 film Pandaemonium.

The filmmaker is looking forward to telling the behind-the-scenes story of the band, explaining to Screen Daily, "This is an exciting chance to tell the Kinks' story in a visceral and real way. The lyrics of The Kinks have always been fascinating to me and there is an amazing human story here as well which has yet to be captured on film."

Filming is scheduled to begin later this year.
