A Burton Mod
band has found success almost four decades after they played alongside some of
the biggest names in British music history.
Just a few
months ago, REACTION – who once supported The Jam, Secret Affair and Lambrettas
– responded to requests of long-time fans and reformed to release new music
during lockdown.
Since their
virtual regrouping at the end of 2020, the band’s new music has started a chain
reaction of success, with their songs being played on 54 radio stations in 18
countries – from Australia to North America.
The releases
have awoken a desire for a new Mod revival in the band’s nostalgic fans, and
REACTION’s music is reaching wider audiences than ever before thanks to
inclusion on three compilation vinyls and CDs, as well as countless magazines
and books about the Mod revival era.
Since their
original formation in 1980, Bruno Gallone, 58, has been the group’s frontman
and has been overwhelmed by how the band has been received almost 40 years on.
Bruno said:
“We really didn’t have any expectation going into a virtual reform; it was a
bit of fun for us and a way to put smiles on the faces of those who remember
our heyday as fondly as we do.
“When the new
songs were released, I had to keep pinching myself at the response they were
getting - thousands of streams, radio time all over the world and calls from
record companies to add our tracks – both new and old – to upcoming vinyl
releases.
“It really
has been a snowball effect that none of us saw coming, but it’s certainly
exciting to see where this momentum will take us.”
REACTION are
back recording remotely with band members scattered across the UK and as far
away as Fiji and they hope to release new music soon.
You can
stream the band’s latest songs, Another Sunday Morning and It’s My Time on
Amazon, Deezer and Spotify now.
