When BIG JOE LOUIS & THE BLUES KINGS issued their first LP back in May 1989, it sold out in just four days !! Since those early days BJL has gone on to play right across the globe – everywhere from juke joints to major festivals/concerts during a career that’s spanned almost 25 years, and releasing recordings internationally to an avid worldwide fan-base - notably including those released on the Blue Horizon and Ace recording labels.

BJL and the Blues Kings have appeared on radio/TV stations all over the world, recorded sessions for BBC Radio 1,2,3 and 4!! and appeared on our screens via BBC television, and Sky TV. The Blues Kings third studio album featured ex-Muddy Waters/Magic Slim guitarist John Primer, they’ve also recorded material alongside Van Morrison, Mississippi blues legend ‘Honeyboy’ Edwards, and TV personality Jool’s Holland. For a 2 years period BJL even fronted the legendary UK Rhythm & Blues band the Big Town Playboys where he remained as their singer before returning to his own career …. The credentials go on, so here’s a pick of just some of the media reviews:

***** "The best blues group ever to emanate from these shores. You must see them. They are great." - Now Dig This

***** "Perhaps the finest set I have ever heard from a UK band..." - Blues & Rhythm

***** …the very best you will hear on this planet...” - Blue Suede News (USA)

***** "One of the greatest British Blues Artists" - Jools Holland

Wild wax from start to finish, with TOM LAWRIE, KEV CONNELLAN, and CRAIG SIMPSON. Expect an infectious mix of uptempo Rhythm & Blues, Kick-Ass Rockabilly, wild Rock n Roll, Soul Shakers, Popcorn & Shakin' Sleazy Instro's.
