Countdown Books release ‘Soul Driver – Ocean Colour Scene’ by Tony Briggs & Ian Snowball

The excellent Countdown Books bring us their latest gem, ‘Soul Driver’, a book predominantly of photographs by Tony Briggs from Ocean Colour Scene’s Britpop heyday, put together in collaboration with Ian Snowball, one of our scene’s most prolific current authors.

This is a lovely publication cram packed with pictures, many from the Moseley Shoals and Marchin’ Already period, along with photos of the band working with Paul Weller, Liam & Noel, Steve White etc. and meeting with Ray Davies on the festival circuit. There’s plenty of shots of Steve’s Lambretta and various guitars (including that white Rickenbacker that used to belong to Mr Weller) along with a narrative in the centre of the book of Tony Briggs’ memories of those times, and details of OCS’s extensive releases.

It’s good to see memories of numerous OCS fans included too, such as those from Adam Cooper (of Heavy Soul fame) on Steve’s time with The Boys (and appearances at CCI rallies) and Peter Jachimiak, who’s views and comments I am always interested to hear (he produces some great Podcasts), to name but two.

For any fans of OCS, Britpop, or the Mod scene in general, this is a must for you. Details of how to get your signed and numbered limited edition copy are provided below.
