JOHN’s CHILDREN John’s Children were Marc Bolan’s
first band, but it would be very unfair to define John’s Children in Bolan
terms (if only because he soon went back to his acoustic guitar…). John’s
Children were violent, loud, psychedelic, very beat and highly Mod. An unusual
combination, indeed! They out-who’d The Who when on tour in Germany, causing
riots, falling out with The Who and having their equipment confiscated…. Their
white garderobe out-Moded any band pretending to be Mod.
Lead-singer
Andy Ellison is still very much alive and singing with the new John’s Children
line-up, writing his bio and overlooking cd releases – the very latest being “A
Strange Affair”. This double cd lists no less than 52 tracks, including many
Ellison solo recordings, lots of alternate takes and the never-released album
Orgasm.
