50 years
since the original Mod scene heyday and the notorious beach riots on Whitsun
bank holiday 1964 in Margate, Hastings and Brighton. The Mod scene is still
going strong and influencing music, fashion and art and design in the 21st Century.
Like
Brighton in the South, Scarborough was the jewel in the crown for the northern
Mod scene in the 60’s. The tradition was revived in the late 70’s and
throughout the 80’s at the legendary ‘Lemon Tree’ venue in Huntriss Row. From
the late nineties onwards NUT’s continued that tradition. At Whitsun we return
