‘2015 marks a Turning point’ reports the Portsmouth News

If it’s a nostalgia trip you’re after, then look no further than The Turning.

This new four-piece outfit have followed their passion for early-1960s Mod and late-1970s punk, to develop their own fusion of great melodies and hooks with a punk energy and urgency.

The Turning take influence from much of the British beat music of the 1960s, including Motown and Freakbeat bands and Mod Revival of the late 1970s and the 1990s Brit Rock scene.

More recently, they have taken inspiration from modern artists such as Miles Kane, The Strypes, Arctic Monkeys and many more.

The Turning had a very busy 2014 having gigged extensively around the UK and Europe including a tour with their mates The Strypes. But 2015 proves to be even busier, as they get back on the road to do a headline tour.

They play at The Cellars at Eastney on Thursday, doors 7.30pm. Tickets £6 advance, £8 on the door.
