I can
exclusively reveal that The Threads have signed to Time For Action Records.
Both
parties are now working together on a vinyl album release (possibly a
double-album) that will feature unreleased recordings, ‘live’ material,
compilation appearances, alternate takes/mixes, demos and radio jingles
(including the ‘Swinging Radio England – Tetley Nuts Jingle’ where Tetley got a
punch in the plums and we all cracked up while the tape was still rolling).
Some
songs will be familiar, but the recordings may not be, whilst others will be
previously unheard (outside of our ‘live’ gigs). None of the recordings previously
released on the ‘Step Back In Time’ CD by the excellent Detour Records are
included here on this planned new release. There will also be a few surprises
too!!!
The
first part of the process will be to locate everything we want to release in
our archives and then find a studio that can master all of our formats (2 inch
24-track, ¼ inch master, cassette, vinyl and CD). So not a quick process, but
one we are pleased to be undertaking – and we are delighted to be working with
the team at Time For Action Records.
