Rod
Stewart staged a Faces reunion to celebrate his 70th birthday – for two songs.
Ronnie
Wood, 67, and Kenney Jones, 66, joined him on stage at his Los Angeles home
last weekend as a tribute to keyboard player Ian McLagan. He died after a
stroke last month.
Drummer
Kenney said on Facebook: “Played with my mates Rod and Woody. Only two songs,
but it was fun.”
Their
reunion was seen by 120 guests at a 1940s-themed party featuring the Glenn
Miller Orchestra.
The Faces
formed from the ashes of the Small Faces in 1969 and split in 1975 after four
albums.
Bassist
Ronnie Lane died in 1997 aged 51.
But any
public reunion of Faces will have to wait as Rod Stewart finishes his Las Vegas
residency later this month.
Rod's hits
span 50 years and include Sailing, You Wear It Well and Maggie May, and he was
made a CBE in 2007 for his services to music.
