London
City Selection (LCS) has unveiled a ‘Mods and Venue Rockers’ theme for its annual
agent familiarisation weekend on 6-7 March.
For the
first time the theme was picked from a number of proposed event concepts
designed by students on the Event Management for Marketing and Communication
course at the Ashdown Academy, which runs courses at University of London and
Kings College. Other
ideas included Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, London Past and Present and
an Around the World theme. (PHK: So this could be a Comedy Mod meets Swinging London moment)
The Mods
and Rockers theme selected by the LCS events committee is being developed into
a range of activities and team challenges in keeping with the 1950s theme, such
as hula hoop and a fashion hunt challenge.
“We’re so
pleased with the choice of theme and all the LCS team are already getting
excited for our 2015 FAM. We are grateful to the students who worked hard to
come up with the event concepts and it has been a highly successful initiative
that we may look to repeat in coming years," said LCS events chair
Lorraine Butler, who is sales and marketing manager at Middle Temple.
Butler
recently appointed post-graduate student Eleanora Chimienti as an intern at
Middle Temple to help with planning and management of the event.
“Our FAM
weekend last year was so popular that we reached our registration capacity
within days of registration opening. It’s always such a successful event and
really helps to raise the profile of our stunning City of London venues.
"We’re
really pleased to be supporting local event management students in this way;
all of the teams presented fantastic ideas and were very professional. I’m also
delighted to be welcoming Eleanora on board at Middle Temple to help us with
the planning of the Mods and Venue Rockers event.”
